How to Send ‘Back in Stock’ Emails With AfterShip Email
Missing out on your favorite product has always been disheartening, especially when you can get it at its lowest price. Well, this generally happens during festive sales, and it is obviously a bitter pill to swallow for online store owners because they have to bear loss as well.
AfterShip Email lets its users send automated 'back in stock' emails so that interested shoppers can buy their favorite item as soon as it is available to be sold again. Here's the procedure for you to follow:
A back in stock email will only contain one product. In case your store visitor adds multiple products in the cart, but they go out of stock before the checkout then he/she will receive multiple back in stock emails, depending on how many products were added earlier.
Go to the ‘Back in stock’ section > Click on the three horizontal dots (⋯) of the given back in stock email and tap on ‘Edit’

You’ll see three tabs: ‘Settings,’ ‘Content,’ and ‘Styles’
Note that trigger of back in stock email is not customizable because it will be triggered as soon as products are back to be sold again.
It has 6 sections to set:
Status: Enable or disable your back in stock email by simply clicking on the right radio button
Campaign name: Give your email campaign a name
Email subject: Enter a catchy subject line to ensure a better email open rate in the ‘Email subject line’ field. You can also use multiple merge tags if you want to. Besides this, you can enter content in the ‘Preview text’ field to give a brief about your email to recipients
Sender Info: Enter the email address from which you want to send back in stock email emails in the ‘Send from email’ field. Also, mention the name in the ‘Sender name’ field, which you want recipients to see when they receive the email
Note: Your email address should be verified by us if you want to use it to send emails. Otherwise, you will be able to trigger emails from this ID: hello@automizelymktg.com (default)
Subscription button and popup: The back in stock email will be delivered to the inboxes of those shoppers that have subscribed for the notification. So, customize the subscription button and popup to let shoppers subscribe effortlessly. Here's what you need to know:
Subscription button: Enter content for the text and description of the button if you are not satisfied with the default one. Also, define the colors for the text, description, and button background.
There's no need to use the button code unless you've an incompatible Shopify theme installed.
To add the button, go to your Shopify store’s ‘Themes’ section ➜ Click on the ‘Customize’ button ➜ Choose the page in which you want to add the button ➜ Tap on the ‘Add section’ ➜ Choose the 'Custom content' option ➜ Click on 'Add block' ➜ Select 'Custom HTML' ➜ Paste your button code ➜ Hit the 'Save' button.

Popup: Enter the content for your popup header, description, button text, and success step text. Also, define the colors regarding text and background

AfterShip branding: The ‘Powered by Automizely’ tag will be added to your back in stock email by default, given the fact that it is a core feature of AfterShip Email. However, if you want to remove it, connect with our support team

The content tab shows 4 sections by default: ‘Header,’ ‘Text,’ ‘Back in stock,’ ‘Recommended products’ and ‘Footer’.
You can add more content blocks by simply clicking on ‘Add blocks’.
In this section, you can add your brand logo along with a dedicated URL to redirect email recipients to your store so that they can learn about your offerings.
In case your brand logo isn’t ready yet, simply mention your store name in the email.
You'll see the padding option for both 'Top' and 'Bottom' in all content blocks, so set it in a way that makes your email look awesome and clutter-free 😄
Decide the alignment, size, and weight of your email content. Although description text is already there by default, you can modify it according to your needs and also use the merge tags for the same.
It’s classified into these sections:
Style: Decide the shape in which your product's image will look good in your email
Content: Click on the checkboxes to show product-related information in your email
Button: Give your button a name and select the page on which the recipient will be redirected when they click on it
As its name suggests, this content block lets you add clickable text.
This block lets you add social media links to gain more followers. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube are the default choices, however, you can add more social networking links by simply clicking on ‘Add logo’

You can put a countdown timer to create a sense of urgency for the recipient. It’s customizable too. For more details, click here.
It lets you upload an image (below 2 MB) in these formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, and .png.
Also, you can adjust the image width and add a URL to make your image clickable.
To entice recipients to take an expected action, add this content block. The coupon block has these sections to set:
Coupon: Choose your coupon campaign from the dropdown menu
Text: Enter the content that you want to show in 'Title', 'Description', and 'Below the coupon code'
Button: Enter the button text and decide its destination URL
Style: Add colors regarding the background, text, and button according to your preference
Add a dedicated button to your email if you want recipients to take any specific action. Just give your button a name and mention the URL, where you want your recipients to be redirected.
In the description field, you can add the address of your company and other valuable information to build authenticity. Keep one thing in mind that 5000 characters (including spaces and symbols) are the maximum limit.

As its name suggests, this tab is all about styling. So, choose the desired font and define colors with respect to the email background, text, button, header, and footer.
Now, send yourself a test email to ensure everything is good. Once done, hit the ‘Save’ button to finalize your back in stock email, which will be sent automatically based on your trigger settings.
